Feng ShuiThe art of design and placement

I Ching bagua

Feng Shui is the guiding principle behind the Energy Jìtán series.

The complex art of design and placement is over 4,000 years old and is believed to promote success in health, wealth, life and happiness. The idea that the “harmony and balance” of a place have an effect on one’s well-being, is wide-spread; but in Feng Shui it has evolved into a complex system of practices that encompass most aspects of human life. According to ancient knowledge, one can enhance the energy of a house or a room by applying the philosophical principle of the I Ching bagua. This is an octagon divided into nine life stations: helpful people/travel, career, knowledge/self-cultivation, family, abundance, fame/reputation, relationship, creativity/children, and in the center is health.

The bagua octagon can be overlaid on the plan of any shape room or building, placing the “career” station at the wall in which the main entry opens into the space. The main entry (as architecturally designed) is the decisive feature for positioning and determines where the nine stations are located in a particular space. When the bagua is laid on a room, the entrance will fall into one of three possible positions. (See bagua illustration) The bagua can be applied to spaces of any shape or size very simply: if a person’s marriage is having problems, she might place something in the “relationship” position in her bedroom that symbolizes passion or harmony for her. Or, if she wishes to strengthen family ties, she could place photographs of family members in either the “family” or “relationship” area of her living room. If she wants to improve her finances, she might enhance the “abundance” corner of her home or office with objects or symbols of affluence. The key is to know what your needs are and to customize the stations as accurately as possible. Always keep in mind that what you wish for yourself will impact your whole world.

Each of the Energy Jìtán designs corresponds with a different station of the bagua.  They can be placed in the appropriate areas of your home or office to influence and augment the energy that resides there.
